Living in B&H Panel Survey - Wave 4 PDF Print E-mail
The BiH Mid-Term Development Strategy (MTDS) is being implemented during the period 2004 - 2007. In order to support the monitoring and evaluation of the MTDS, it is necessary to re-evaluate the extent and depth of poverty in 2004, in BiH and both entities, and prepare to compare this with the incidence of poverty in 2007, at the end of this phase of the MTDS.

DFID has been involved in medium term (2001 to 2004) support of the Statistical Community in BiH, through the implementation of a Panel Survey (Living in BiH; LiBiH), capacity building, research activities and sample frame development. This Panel Survey, LiBiH, has its statistical base in the World Bank Living Standards Measurement Survey (LSMS) of 2001. A nested and corrected sample of 3,000 households was drawn from the LSMS sample of households as the first round of the Panel. These households were re-interviewed in 2002 and 2003 as the LiBiH Panel Survey Waves 2 and 3 to provide statistically significant data at entity and state level.

In order to develop base line (2004) data on poverty, incomes and socio-economic conditions, and to begin to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the BiHDS, EPPU has commissioned a modified fourth round of the LiBiH Panel Survey (Wave 4). This is specifically as a monitoring tool for the MTDS, endorsed by the BiH Council of Ministers
