The Directorate for Economic Planning (DEP) and the World Bank (WB) are co-hosting an event to present a report “Protecting the poor during the global crisis: 2009 Bosnia and Herzegovina Poverty Update” on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the UNITIC business center, Conference room No. 7 (Fra Anđela Zvizdovića 1, Sarajevo).  

Representatives of media are invited to attend part of the report presentation on Wednesday, January 27 from 11:00 to 11:45. There will also be an opportunity for statements from DEP and the WB from 11:45 to 12:00.

The report uses the Household Budget Survey (HBS) conducted in 2004 and 2007 to provide micro-evidence on the evolution of poverty, a profile of the poor, and the impact of the global crisis on the population in Bosnia and Herzegovina.  It also offers a few recommendations on how to protect the population.

The 2009 Bosnia and Herzegovina Poverty Update and a press release will be distributed at the event.
